The Boundary Commissions of Ghana and Togo wrapped up the joint 2-day community sensitisation exercise earmarked for residents along the international boundary line from Ave Dakpa to Wli Afegame today.
Hosting the exercise, the Préfet of the Zolo area welcomed the Ghanaian delegation and reiterated the fact that people from Ave Dapka and Ave Zolo are one people. He also admonished the chiefs and residents present to cooperate with the joint technical team members when they come into the communities. The DCE of Akatsi North also appealed to the traditional leaders present to inform their community members of the ongoing exercise and support the team as and when needed.
The Permanent Secretary of the National Land Boundary Commission of Togo, Dr. Lardja, and the Representative of the National Coordinator of the Ghana Boundary Commission, Col. Henry Badasu, both
informed and assured the people that the reaffirmation exercise does not seek to divide their lands. Rather, it is a national exercise backed by the AU Convention on Cross-Border Cooperation.
