The maiden Experience Sharing Workshop under the auspices of the Ghana Boundary Commission on the Development and Operationalisation of National Boundary Structures for SADC Countries and Ethiopia commenced. The 3-day workshop, the first of its kind and sponsored by the German Government aims at supporting the operationalisation/strengthening of Boundary Commissions of targeted states. The workshop will allow already established Boundary Commissions led by Ghana to share its success story as a way to encourage the development and operationalisation of independent National Boundary Commissions and Structures for participating countries.
In attendance for the opening ceremony were the Deputy German Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Sivine Jansen; the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Benito Owusu-Bio; the National Coordinator of the Ghana Boundary Commission, Maj Gen Kotia; and the Director General for the National Boundary Commission of Nigeria, Surveyor Adamu Adaji and representatives from the following participating countries – Kenya, Mozambique, Ghana, Malawi, Botswana, and Ethiopia
