A delegation from the Ghana Boundary Commission, led by the Commissioner General, Major General Emmanuel Kotia, on Tuesday 18 February 2025, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah at the Ministry of Defence in Accra.
The aim of the visit was to brief the minister on the mandate and activities of the Commission, to strengthen ties and foster collaboration between the Commission and the Ministry of Defence.
The courtesy call provided an opportunity for the team from the Commission to brief the Minister particularly on issues related to land and maritime boundary demarcation/delimitation, dispute resolution, and cross-border cooperation. The Minister, in turn, commended the Commission for their efforts in managing and securing the international boundaries of Ghana, emphasising the importance of maintaining good relations with neighbouring countries.
The meeting underscores the Commission’s commitment to working with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence and particularly the Ghana Armed Forces to ensure the effective management of the borders of Ghana.
