A team from the Ghana Boundary Commission, led by Deputy Commissioner General Dr. Sheriff Adams, with operational support from the Ghana Navy and GNPC, undertook a joint maritime inspection along the Ghana/Côte d’Ivoire International Maritime Boundary. The inspection, conducted simultaneously aboard the GNS Achimota (Ghana Navy) and the INS Le Bouclier (Ivorian Navy) under the supervision of ECOWAS Maritime Zone F, formed part of the implementation of the 2017 ITLOS ruling on the common maritime boundary. Its objective was to ensure strict compliance and prevent violations along the boundary.
The mission also benefited from the participation of key partners, including the Survey & Mapping Division of the Lands Commission and National Security.
More than a technical exercise, this joint operation embodies trust, collaboration, and regional solidarity; working to secure safer waters, safeguard offshore resources, and build a stronger future for coastal communities in both Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.
