The Ghana Boundary Commission, with support from GIZ and the SKBoWa initiative, has successfully concluded a two-day capacity-building workshop on the Establishment of Local Groups of Cross-Border Cooperation and the development of Cross-Border Plans.
The workshop was held at the Marriott Hotel on 15 and 16 September 2025 and the participants included Traditional, Regional and District administrative authorities from the Savannah and Upper West Regions, Regional Commanders of selected security agencies within the two regions, and stakeholders from Burkina Faso.
During the Workshop, participants from Ghana and Burkina Faso deepened their understanding of Cross-Border Governance, exchanged experiences, and reaffirmed their collective commitment to transforming borders into bridges of peace, security, and development.
Delivering his address, the Commissioner General of the Ghana Boundary Commission, Brigadier General Anthony Ntem, reminded participants of their vital roles in advancing cooperation with neighbouring communities across the divide. He further admonished all present to be committed to building resilient and cooperative border communities for the benefit of both nations and the people living along the Boundary
